IVAM establishes contacts in China: National Microtechnology Conference in Shanghai

Nov 26, 2010

This week international experts discussed commercial applications in microtechnology at the Shanghai ICMAN conference. “We get good insights into the situation of technology and markets in China. We will present the IVAM network and establish valuable contacts,” Dr. Uwe Kleinkes stated, CEO of the IVAM association of microtechnology.

The business partner China becomes more and more important for European companies according to the IVAM data collection. Moreover this country has lately reached the same level of exports as Japan. The “internet of things” is currently much discussed in Shanghai. Wireless sensor networks have already been put to use at the international airport Pudong to control the compound. At the present time the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology is planning a large research centre for this field of study. At ICMAN China Telecom, Intel China and other companies discuss the application of sensor networks and machine-to-machine interactions (M2M). This can be e.g. remote monitoring systems or “smart metering” of electricity consumption. Chinese experts focus not only on systematic expansion of FuE-Basis in all relevant areas of microtechnology but also on medical technology. At the conference IVAM presents latest technology and market trends from Europe.
